Following the fund management takeover of Interamerican Fixed Income Domestic Bond Fund from EFG Mutual Fund Management Company in November 2004, Standard & Poor’s assigned it with Credit Quality Rating Af.
The ‘Af’ credit quality rating is based on current assessments of the mutual fund’s portfolio reflecting Standard & Poor’s analysis (Credit Quality Rating). The ‘Af’ rating signifies that the selection of portfolio holdings and counterparties provides strong protection against losses from credit defaults.
The rating which reflects Standard & Poor’s appraisal of the fund’s expected sensitivity to changing market conditions (Volatility Rating) is S2, that is

In principal, Standard & Poor’s monitors the portfolio on a monthly basis to check the consistency of its credit and volatility profiles with the assigned ratings. Standard & Poor’s analysis is a long lasting, continuous, and sophisticated procedure based on the following qualitative and quantitative criteria:

- the long term performance of the fund
- the structure of the management company and the internal audit procedures
- the size and the stability of the organization responsible for the management of the mutual funds .
