EFG Eurobank Ergasias is putting to use the possibilities of digital TV thanks to a new collaboration with the NetMed company, creator of NOVA subscriber TV. NOVA is the first digital TV platform in Greece. The collaboration was announced at a NetMed press interview, in the presence of EFG Eurobank Ergasias, called to introduce the first banking services offered to NOVA subscribers. On behalf of EFG Eurobank Ergasias, Deputy Managing Director Mr Byron Ballis stressed the importance of this collaboration, which makes the Bank the first in Greece and one among five in Europe to provide banking and stock-brokerage services via satellite digital TV. As Mr Ballis pointed out, EFG Eurobank Ergasias' initiative is part of the Bank's broader stategy to achieve rapidly the fullest possible use of new technologies, the ultimate aim being to offer comprehensive, rapid, and easy service to customers wherever they are, 24 hours a day. More specifically, by means of digital TV, NOVA subscribers will have, in the initial phase, the following possibilities:
- Obtain information about EFG Eurobank Ergasias mortgages and consumer loans.
- Calculate the principal and instalment they wish to provide for repayment of a loan.
- Obtain information about yields of the Bank's Mutual Fund.
- Create Mutual Fund portfolios and follow their valuation and returns.
These services are supported by the PhoneBanking service of EFG Eurobank Ergasias. NOVA subscribers will be able, by dialing 1144, to obtain full information, submit applications, and carry out their transactions free of charge.
By linking up with technological developments in Greece in the field of interactive TV, the services offered by EFG Eurobank Ergasias by means of digital TV will very soon be enhanced and expanded accordingly, with a view to providing a comprehensive, easy, secure, and rapid service to its customers in their everyday banking and stock-market transactions.
