Eurobank Bulgaria AD (Postbank) is a partially owned subsidiary (99.99%) of Eurobank SA. The company offers banking services to individuals, companies and investors in Bulgaria.
Banking products and services
Postbank is the fourth largest bank in Bulgaria in terms of loans and deposits. In 2015 it won the following awards:
- Most Active Issuing Bank in Bulgaria by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
- Best custody bank by Global Custodian and Global Investor magazines.
- Best bank in the category of innovation by the Bulgarian Confederation of Employers and Industrialists.
Background
Bulgarian Postbank was incorporated in 1991. It is one of the few Bulgarian banks that managed to survive the 1996-1997 banking crisis in Bulgaria.
In 2002 Eurobank Ergasias SA acquired a 43% stake in Bulgarian Postbank. It gradually acquired 99.99% of its share capital.
Postbank was incorporated in 2007 after the merger of Bulgarian Postbank and DZI Bank.
In 2016 Eurobank Bulgaria AD (Postbank) acquired the Alpha Bank banking services in Bulgaria.
